Peer Support Day, a day full of beautiful moments!

Hedy gives researcher Janya Grainok chocolate

Saturday November 9th we came together with more than eighty people for a special peer support day! With a delicious lunch and inspiring lectures, it was a day to remember. Special thanks to Gabriëlle and Lotte for organizing this wonderful event!

We started the day with a delicious lunch in the restaurant and like every year we found out that it was too tight in terms of time. Because it is always nice to meet and talk to each other.

After lunch we opened the day with an explanation of the program and some announcements. Sander and Kim are leaving our board. We would like to thank them again for their years of dedication, involvement and enthusiasm!

After the opening speech, Leon talked about the recording of the ADOA podcast. And some people participated in the podcast that was recorded elsewhere in the hotel.

Peter then told us about all the ongoing research. Janya from PYC then explained the test phase of the medicine that this company has developed. Anyone who wanted to know more about this, and perhaps participate, could ask questions. We thought it was fantastic that Janya wanted to come from Australia to our peer group day to explain.

After the official part there was time for coffee, tea, some snacks and meeting others and sharing experiences through the chat pots that were on the tables.

???? The reactions were heartwarming and a nice description of this day: “It was very valuable.” “Both informative and special to have so many people with the same condition together!”

In short, a day to connect, learn and look forward together. Thanks to everyone who was there and made this day unforgettable!
