For 16 years, Phil Barrett and his family have been organizing a very special darts tournament in memory of his father, Bryan Barrett. Bryan was a well-known local darts player who lost his sight at the end of his life. Thanks to the support he received at the time from the RNIB (the British foundation for the blind and visually impaired), the family decided to raise money for this organization through this tournament. By now, more than £30.000 has already been raised!
💙 This year, the family chose to share the proceeds from the tournament. True to tradition, one half went to the RNIB, and they donated the other half to our foundation to support research into ADOA(-plus). Ryan Searle was present on behalf of the foundation and proudly accepted the cheque for no less than £1,094.00 from the family.
🙏 We are very grateful for this special one. It is heartwarming to see how the memory of a beloved father is now contributing to the path toward a treatment for our community.
