On June 13, we gathered under a radiant sun at Nyenrode Estate in Breukelen for the very first edition of the ADOA Games. A day full of sport, fun, and connection! Coffee and tea were already waiting upon arrival, and the atmosphere was great right from the start.
💪🏼 After a warm welcome, Duco Bauwens led an energetic warm-up, after which we got to work on three special workshops. There was enthusiastic drumming during the djembe workshop, we sang an African song together, and were introduced to showdown (blindfolded air hockey) and blind baseball.
After a delicious lunch, it was time for the six-event competition. Team spirit, togetherness, and helping each other took center stage. Afterwards, the children and adults let loose on the obstacle course or enjoyed a friendly game of football. It was fantastic to see how quickly the youth bonded and how casually experiences were exchanged.
We pleasantly rounded off this sporty day with a well-deserved drink. A day full of connection, fun, and enjoying ourselves together. Exactly what the ADOA Games were all about. 💙
