With sadness and gratitude we remember Louwrens Wigchers, who passed away on Tuesday 24 June at the age of 76. Louwrens was very involved in the mission of the Cure ADOA Foundation. This rare eye condition ADOA also runs in his family.
As a great motorcycle enthusiast, Louwrens and his wife Willy exhibited their unique private collection of mopeds and motorcycles to visitors. They did not charge an entrance fee, but a contribution to research into ADOA. In 2024, they raised no less than β¬11.526,65 in donations.
Louwrens' support for our mission continues. His motorcycle and moped museum will remain open by appointment. You can make an appointment for a guided tour on Friday afternoon at 13:45 PM to view this unique collection.
More information can be found on the website of the Motorcycle and Moped Museum >
On behalf of the Cure ADOA Foundation, we would like to thank Louwrens Wigchers for his support and wish his loved ones much strength. We would also like to thank them for the large donation in Louwrens' name. The family asked people to donate to the foundation instead of flowers for his funeral. With this, the family raised an amount of β¬4880. This amount will also go to research into a treatment for ADOA(-plus).
Louwrens, thank you for everything.
