Contribute to research on dual sensory impairments!

Hand points with pen to data in research results. Above that is the text: 'Contribute to research into dual sensory impairments!' and below that 'Sign up!'

In her PhD research, cognitive psychologist Esther Veenman investigates the relationship between deafblindness and information processing, communication, mobility and energy balance.

With this research she wants to clarify the cooperation between the most important visual and auditory functions and establish risk profiles. In addition, she wants to improve the diagnosis and connection to the treatment of dual sensory impairments.

📍 This might sound familiar, as we previously shared a call for this research. Back then, the research took place at Visio Het Loo Erf in Apeldoorn, and now it's being conducted at Visio Revalidatie & Advies in Heerhugowaard. This makes it easier for people in the western part of the country to participate.

The research consists of several components, including a large quantitative study for which they are still looking for respondents. Are you or do you know someone who meets the following requirements:

👁️ Minimum age 18
👁️ Proficient in the Dutch language
👁️ Has a visual impairment and/or
👁️ Has a hearing impairment

👉 Send an email to Esther Veenman to register. This is possible until August 18th.

The study consists of a one-hour questionnaire and a visual and hearing assessment. It takes about two hours in total. Your travel expenses will be covered, and after participating, you'll even receive a €1 VVV gift certificate. This way, you'll contribute to scientific research and get something nice out of it for yourself!
