We are incredibly pleased that Dr. Mirian Janssen and Dr. Jan Willem Pott have joined the Medical Advisory Board of the Cure ADOA Foundation! With their arrival, our advisory board becomes even more comprehensive in terms of content.
🧬 Dr. Mirian Janssen is an internist specializing in hereditary metabolic diseases at the Radboudumc Centre of Expertise for Mitochondrial Diseases. Because ADOA-plus can be a multisystem disorder in which other organs or symptoms also play a role, her expertise is invaluable. Mirian has previously spoken at our ADOA-plus days, contributed to the ADOA-plus brochure, and was a guest on our podcast. Her knowledge helps us to inform patients even better and to bridge the gap between ophthalmology, metabolic care, and rehabilitation.
👁️ Dr. Jan Willem Pott is an ophthalmologist specializing in neuroophthalmology and hereditary eye diseases at the UMCG. He brings years of experience with optic nerve disorders as well as an extensive national and international network. Thanks in part to him, we attended the international EUNOS Congress in Rotterdam in 2024, where valuable contacts with researchers were established. He also spoke about ADOA at the Eye Congress in 2025.
💙 With Mirian Janssen and Jan Willem Pott alongside Camiel Boon and Judith van Everdingen, our council is now beautifully spread across the country: from Groningen and Amsterdam to Rotterdam and Nijmegen. We are also immensely grateful for the years of commitment of Camiel Boon and Judith van Everdingen, who have been associated with our foundation since its inception in 2018.
