Speakers
Joyce Liao on the latest scientific insights into ADOA research
Joyce Liao, Professor of Ophthalmology and Neurology at Stanford Medicine, is a leading researcher in the field of ADOA.
During this English-language presentation, she will take us through the latest scientific insights. What are the most recent developments in research into ADOA? What steps are being taken worldwide, and what does this mean for the future? Naturally, there will be time to ask her questions afterwards.
Gerjanne Zielman on the mental impact of living with ADOA(-plus)
Gerjanne Zielman, advisor and expert at Bartiméus, has extensive experience in providing support for visual impairments and rare diseases.
This Dutch-language workshop focuses on the mental impact of living with ADOA and ADOA-plus. How does receiving this diagnosis affect you? How do you cope with the uncertainty regarding the progression of your vision, and how do you find a good balance in this in daily life? Gerjanne offers practical tools, and there is ample opportunity to share experiences and ask questions.
Program for children
This year, we once again have a special program for children on ADOA Day!
Creative workshops and swimming
Janita is organizing a number of creative and active workshops especially for young people this year!
During these enjoyable workshops, children engage in various fun activities in an accessible way. It is the ideal way to spend time together and to get to know other children who also deal with ADOA(-plus) in a relaxed manner.
With Ilse and Elon, the children can relax for a while in the swimming pool at the Van der Valk hotel.
Location and accessibility
The ADOA day takes place in Van der Valk Hotel Breukelen, Stationsweg 91, 3621 LK Breukelen.
The hotel is easily accessible by public transport. It's a 3-minute walk from Breukelen train station. Parking is free; you can request an exit ticket at reception.
