What valuable days we have behind us! Last week, the Cure ADOA Foundation was present at the NOG congress in Groningen. Volunteers Maud, Coby, Hedy, Richard, and Kirsten were ready at the booth to firmly put ADOA and ADOA-plus on the map within the Dutch ophthalmological community.
👁️ There was a constant stream of driven professionals. We had many good conversations with, among others, ophthalmologists, residents, ophthalmic technicians, optometrists, physician assistants, and orthoptists.
This allowed us to share that we collaborate with professionals in the field and are in contact with people all over the world. As a result, we noticed that visitors were very impressed and became genuinely interested. A lot of material was taken away for further in-depth study of ADOA(-plus) to learn what care providers could do to help people better. Fantastic!
This personal contact is essential. By informing healthcare providers directly, we ensure that patients receive the correct diagnosis and appropriate help more quickly in the future. Together, we increase the awareness that is so desperately needed for our community.
In addition to healthcare providers, we also spoke with parties from the industry and various young physician-researchers. We did our best to get them as enthusiastic as possible about embracing us as a charity or conducting research into ADOA because we intend to fund it. This resulted in some incredibly enjoyable conversations.
Not only was knowledge shared, but a direct contribution was also made to the future. We were once again able to sell many beautiful Cure ADOA Foundation Doppers. As always, the wonderful proceeds of no less than €250 go 100% to scientific research into ADOA(-plus). 💧
